Yes indeed! We've been using live-build up to date, and since Raphaël Herzog has become its maintainer I guess it will continue to be an option, at least for a while. Still, I suppose eventually we're going to have to get to grips with live-wrapper...

Linux Mint have started a collection of "generic" apps called X-Apps, based on the usual suspects, but intended to be environment-agnostic, to work on all the LM versions interchangably: https://www.linuxmint.com/rel_sarah_mat … .php#xapps
It might turn out that there's something in there that BunsenLabs can use.

^ They are all nice apps, but ATM the dependencies are not satisfiable on stretch it seems (for the LM debs).

xplayer was particularly nice I found.

I'm finding this little blighter a bit tricky to package because it has a web of interconnected dependencies and the configure script seems to be using a syntax that is not compatible with the stretch version of automake

To fix this I will have to build a custom .deb properly in my Debian system and drop the files from that into my openSUSE Build Service repository (at the moment I'm just dragging&dropping the files from the Mint servers to my OBS site using my OpenBSD box).

Anyway, I've managed to build the basic Xplayer package for BunsenLabs Hydrogen/Deuterium & Debian jessie (plus a few *buntu ones as well):

^That's what tip databases are for. I use Treepad under wine. Cherry Tree might be an acceptable alternate, although I looked at it awhile back and wasn't impressed compared with Treepad.

There is a version of Treepad for Linux, but it will only store text; no pics, no text formatting. I'm also not certain if you can change the tree icons in the Linux version.
