Re: Beryllium Theming

Not for real use (some subtle artefacts) but I cropped/resized your red wallpaper to our standard 1440x900 and moved the red mash and logo towards the centre to keep out of the way of our default conky. (Could maybe even move the whole blob a bit to the left?) Had to fill in some extra grey top & bottom, hence the artefacts:

But I seriously like that above black theme - Packrat liked it too.

Simple, elegant, keeps out of your face and lets you do the work.
Time to choose something anyway and push for release?

Yes. I'm still finishing themes, but that is always a package update away.

B theme to go with that grey.png wall which we already include...

Openbox and notification themes aren't finished, but they work (set notifications to the default theme on bullseye, it works just fine.)

Re: Beryllium Theming

^Thanks - I'll give that a try on my VM.
I've always liked that grey wallpaper - it was the background for BL Hydrogen but no harm in using it once more for Beryllium IMO.

Is this jpg conversion any use?
UrO11AZt.jpg
It's 285kB to the png's 1.2MB, but would be no good if it's got banding for some users like that Helium wallpaper issue we had.

Re: Beryllium Theming

^ Yes, useful,, use it. For some reason (the diffusion? The added noise? I don't know), banding isn't an issue with this gradient.

Re: Beryllium Theming

That grey theme looks OK, here on a 1024x768 VM:
gi5eJY7l.png

Maybe, just a little bit brown somehow? How does that happen, since the wallpaper is greyscale? My eyes being weird? Maybe it's the contrast with the blueish Lithium host system surrounding it?

Meanwhile, I wonder if you could give me the theme and wallpaper you used for this black screenshot?
No problem if not all the details are finished.

I switched the grayscale jpg wallpaper to RGB mode, then tweaked it just a tiny bit towards blue:
wx8vzCJt.jpg
The difference is almost invisible, but maybe just enough to take away that mysterious brownness?
Maybe if you could apply a similar small shift of the B theme GTK background colour from #3f3f3f to, say, #3a3a3f? I tried it on a terminal (couldn't find the file to tweak in the GTK theme) and it might just look a little bit better...

Re: Beryllium Theming

@hhh, what do you think of @sleekmason's offer here?
https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 27#p121427

If you're tied up with other stuff, we could just take him up on his offer, tweak what he gives us as needed, and get Beryllium out of the door.

I'm in no position to judge.

I thought I had. Theme here, it's simply called "B" ATM...

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W1lrsx … sp=sharing

Wallpaper is grey.png, part of our default wall package.

Brown? I thought it was all greyscale. I'll investigate.

Re: Beryllium Theming

^No, I meant the black theme:
79FmAm0t.png
What you gave me was the grey one, which is nice enough - I sent back my slightly blueish-tinged suggestion. Yes it is grayscale so the brownishness is all in my eyes, but that's why I added the blue. It's an almost invisible shift.

I just would like to have the black theme too so I can compare them in my VM.

Re: Beryllium Theming

It says "Theme: B" in your Neofetch, that's the darkest one I have at the moment. Here it is with what are already included tint2 and conky themes...

Re: Beryllium Theming

^Ah yes, looking closely it does say "B" for the theme. Any chance of getting a download of that blackish wallpaper you used?

But the theme "B" definitely looks blacker there than the one you sent me the other day.

Compare:

Especially the background of the file manager.
