I never use 90% of the keybinds myself, and use winfuncs for tidying up my screen while working.
Here's my normal state of affairs while working, lol.

Winfuncs cascade cleans it up! (lower left panel button.)

I'm sorry, I could never work in either scenario.
All windows scattered on a single desktop, helter skelter, partial overlaps... or all windows stacked in a cascade, still on a single desktop...
I generally use all 6 of my virtual desktops, and a window is usually 100% size or 50% (vertical split) or 25% (horizontal split of the vertical split), though a 50% horizontal split is also possible. I can do all that with openbox only, and with keybinds only.
But I am less disciplined than some, I still like to use stacking/floating by default, and only apply manual tiling when required. Best of both worlds.

I used to work like sleek - now a convert to full tiling with bspwm. I have the default ten desktops with about 4 with predefined apps that launch on login. The others are manually set up but I tend to know "desktop 2 is for messenging apps, D1 is for firefox casual browsing, D7 is for video recording, D5 for zoom presentations etc" now.
I do sometimes miss the look and feel of openbox/fluxbox - maybe a combo approach like yours might work for me.

Last ones for the first month of the New Year for me on my very old Inspiron laptop. The bullseye freeze is 2 weeks away, here's a new Debian Cinnamon install ready to be dist-upgraded, 3G RAM is plenty to run it...
With (my) Nordic theming added...

The clock was bothering me, we use this 12 hour clock here and it's a hard habit to shake. I don't want to do math when I look at a clock, but that's what it is for an American reading a 24 hour clock. We're subtracting twelve (or 2) half of the day. Screw that, I can tell if it's evening by the sun, or by the AM/PM readout...
Better screen management...
-edit- Forgot I could add a desklet, that's 24:00 for the rest of the world...
00:00 for the rest of the world? I don't know. Midnight.

@hhh, One might just extract 2 from the 2nd number most of the time. 17-2 = 5pm or 19-2=7pm.

Decided it was time to put icons in my Openbox Menu. First tried to get obmenu-generator to work, but decided that I wouldn't be able to use it in a build even if I could get the perl dependencies installed. (Just simply beyond me for the time being).
So, wound up doing it the hard way. I suppose there is a bunch there I would have to do regardless
Only thing about this is that they have to be manually added when extra programs are.
The Debian menu adds "some" icons, but no where near all.

@b-rex, I know (I mentioned it). But maths are hard for us Americans. We still have no idea how long a kilometer is.
@cog, a broken clock is right twice a day. Updated by me, unless it's a 24 hour clock, then it's right once a day. In your face, Euro trash, your broken clocks have half the value of ours!
@ceeslans and @sleekmason, just... great. @ceeslans, that's an amazing fluxbox desktop.

I know the feeling from my nautical days, when the 'captain' was talking about miles, turns out 4 miles can be more than an hour of sailing a beer away. Miles to beer conversion was approximately 4:1, giving
1 beer = 4 miles
To make things even more complicated there is 'nautical mile > mile' I think.
