The New Year is here....

This is where you can post screenshots of your setup, as long as it's in line with our somewhat elaborate rules and instructions...

Please use thumbnails. Do not embed images larger than approx 250x250px (62,500px) into posts, use thumbnails linking to a hosted image instead. Thanks!

Various online free image hosts are available, such as Imgur, imgbb, freeimage.host, scrot.cloud, postimg.cc, etc...

Use the following BB code for posting please:

[img]<url of thumbnail>[/img]

** Update for Imgur users **

Imgur only provides the link to the full image, but just add "t" to the name to get a thumbnail link, and the filename extension eg:

Imgur also provides a variety of thumbnail sizes, and the linked BBCode, in the image "View and edit" screen.

Repeat: To get the linked direct image you need make sure to add the file extension to the url. Their recommended BB code doesn't really convey this properly.

If you just want to upload a screenshot to Imgur, you can avoid a lot of the url-editing etc if you use the BunsenLabs built-in bl-image-upload utility:

Menu > BL Utilities > Take Screenshot > Imgur - Upload Screenshot > Anonymous Upload (or via Imgur account) > Screenshot Now (or whatever)

Then middle-click in the forum Message window to paste the link:

You can then "Delete" the image if desired, but don't delete the uploaded image if you want to post it

Once again when choosing a thumbnail size please keep in mind our approx 250x250px (62,500px) thumbnail file size constraints.

Re imgur:

Imgur only provides the link to the full image, but you can get a thumbnail by appending "t" to the image ID.
If the image page is https://imgur.com/7S2EJEg, then the image ID is 7S2EJEg.
BBCode for forums then would look like this:
[img][url=https://i.imgur.com/7S2EJEg.png]https://i.imgur.com/7S2EJEgt.png[/url][/img]
                                                                     ^
Note the added 't' towards the end.
You can also get the fullsize image URL by right-clicking on the image => Copy Image Location.

Not related to the calendar if you can believe it, but tonight's fresh install is the first BL install I've done since it came out. I forgot how good the install, first boot, first login and default desktop load-up is. Pretty seamless.

BTW if you just want to upload a screenshot to Imgur, you can avoid a lot of the url-editing etc etc if you use the BunsenLabs built-in utility:
Menu > BL Utilities > Take Screenshot > Imgur - Upload Screenshot > Anonymous Upload (or via Imgur account) > Screenshot Now (or whatever)

If you don't want to keep the image, press "Delete" (but don't delete the uploaded image if you want to post it ).

Very nice, I thought BL might have something like that ootb.
Then that should be in post #1 of all screenshot threads.

While searching for a lite/portable/dark text editor for my internal total-commander-pack, turns out geany runs on windows as well (and it's only 38 megs unpacked), warning: windows screenshot, cover your eyes a bit:

tint2 clock stayed at #182A39 (I just confirmed it again now in a Live session).

Duh, it's because the Live session doesn't have the commit, and I bypassed bl-welcome on the install so that's old too. Color me embarrassed. :monkey:

Nm, I just needed to pay closer attention to this month's Original Post (where to add the 't', add it to the second URL right before '.png' or '.jpg')...

I would really love that wallpaper if you could please share but I'd really need it in 3840x2160 if possible sorry to sound demanding but I'd like to display it in all it's glory.

Don't be embarrassed. It's quite true that there has been no upgrade of bunsen-utilities since that tint2-clock-text-colour commit was made, so nobody's got it yet. (bl-welcome wouldn't have helped.) There's a whole slew of upgrades coming to that package (still not all done) so a new version will go out, with luck, before too long.

BL Lithium... Openbox, tint2, gedit, thunar, conky, lightdm, wallpaper is a Blade Runner (Final Cut) screencap via nitrogen, music stream is Spotify (free) via Chromium. BL tiling shortcuts and Compton transparency ftw.
