Conky for noobie (Weather and time) [SOLVED]

Is it easy top add weather and a nice clock on the top right of my screen ?

https://i.imgur.com/ETMbnAA.png

I saw some nice stuff on https://www.deviantart.com/

I need to "import" some part of the CONKIES I like, within my actual conky file ?

In a perfect world I would like :
- weather
- nice clock & Date
- stocks ticker to follow " one stock" TSLA LOL

Any comments will be appreciated...

Started to edit, take a look at my actual conky file but I'm not good at all for now

Re: Conky for noobie (Weather and time) [SOLVED]

There are a "million" clocks out there, from 12 to 24 hours, analog clocks, binary clocks, "talking clocks"

IE: "fourteen hours, two minutes"

So look through this thread there are a lot right here.

Teo has the weather covered in this thread:
Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/NWS/MoonGiant)

you also have a weather script in BL:
~/.config/conky/scripts/bunsenweather.sh
All you need to do is get your own API Key - they are FREE!

 03 Mar 20 @ 13:56:31 ~
   $ ~/.config/conky/scripts/bunsenweather.sh
Buenos Aires F.D.
Lat: -34.6    Long: -058.5
Condition: Clear
Cloud Cover: 0%
Pressure: 1017 mb
Temp: +30.6°C
 Min: +27.0°C  Max: +33.3°C
Wind: 3.1 m/s from  70°

Sunrise: 06:43    Sunset: 19:28

 03 Mar 20 @ 13:56:52 ~
   $

Still in my test conky: 2020-03-03-135940-S11.jpg

${execpi 30 ~/.config/conky/scripts/bunsenweather.sh}

I have a talking clock in French here someplace.  Must find it now...

Check out my screenshot in the March thread, the clock on the top-centre and the little "date" conky on the bottom right.  Yup, another Canuck, from Montreal too, but left Mtl when I was ±5 years old.  Only been back to visit.

Mine are conky v1.9 format but that should convert quite nicely.

I converted the English to Spanish - so French would be a snap.  Unless your system was installed in French then it's easier.

Re: Conky for noobie (Weather and time) [SOLVED]

To the super complicated:
Phyllinux (tar.gz: a b c d & e) polices incluses | Fonts included lisezmoi - readme.pdf (fr|En)

File:12-2-Phyllinux-1.png

and the 5 files needed, scroll down.

More a historical conky now - very old and not the same format that BL is using with conky v1.10

From reading about who you are and what you do, I doubt you will have any problems.

Check out: Show us your Conky - 53 pages of help and ideas.

Any questions help is only an ask away.

Unfortunately a lot of the earlier images have disappeared along with scrot.mo

EDIT: Start at 53 and go backwards  big_smile

Re: Conky for noobie (Weather and time) [SOLVED]

Ooooo  NICE!!  Some look familiar, updated conkys from the past.  Very impressive.

And I see: Weather Widget with wttr.in ... I have had that for a while ... call it up in my OB Menu
The execute command:

terminator --geometry=1200x750+100+100 -x wttr

2020-03-03-173256-S11.jpg
I'm going to dig around at that site.  Merci beaucoup.
