Cicadas. They were cicadas.

My Windows lineage at home after I turned to NT kernel:
2002 Windows XP
2010 Windows 7
2018 Windows 10
I find their every odd release, well, odd.
UI wise, I had the most fun with Windows XP because of all the customizations that were available. My favorite was Chaninja theme, apart from traditional square-y w95 look.

2026 MS Linux 13?
All this mentions of XP brings memories.
XP was the worst. Felt all the eXPeriance with the blue screens and numerious reinstalls.
Not only on my pc but on all the friend's and family's too.-------------
These Christmas decorations are going to be there until April.

No snow this year.
There was some pretty nifty hacks for winxp back in the day, cant remember them now but had a lot to do with messing with the registry. I think i paid for MS once and the rest just pirated their shit until i found linux.

Can someone explain to me why an organization as technologically significant as CERN would even contemplate using anything from F****berg Corp?

True that.
Here's mine just shortly before I switched to Linux.

People are filthy. We shed, we secrete, we have microscopic bugs crawling all over us, we fling tiny particles of spit when talking to each other. Doesn't matter who you are are where you're from. Favela slumster, Baden Baden poshster, Berghain punter (though these are extra nasty, I'll give you that) - all are disgusting. Not even OpenBSD devs auditing code naked in a hermetically sealed room are exempt.

It is the same saying Americans are <insert your preferred expletive or derogate term> based on some street survey (like geography questions about out of the USA countries)
But, in general, and the reason stereotypes exist... We are.
Lazy and fat. We'll fire up the riding lawnmower to get to the corner store before we'll actually walk there.
Self-centered, self-entitled and uneducated. Racist. Sexist. Class-ist. Age-ist. Drugged out, money hungry, dopamine and opiate addicted and reality-TV addicted and social-media addicted and celebrity addicted escapists. Enraged by the fake news fed to us, delighted by the SuperBowel (sic),
Homeless? Mentally challenged? Poor? Mexican? Disabled? Veteran? Screw you.
Fake jingoistic and screw the rest of the world.
So there's that.
... Or saying (non)religious people are <something-something> ...
My favorite... How about saying that religious people are something-something? Hypocrites, fake Christian. Not one word of "Do Unto Others" or "Judge not, lest Ye be judged" or "Love Thy Enemy". Did you see the latest news? The Mormons have amassed 100 BILLION USD!!!!! (tax-free thanks to the US Constitution) in the last 20-40 years and they have about 10-20 BILLION of it invested in the stock market on any given day...

I call moderators to clean (delete) this up a bit.
I'm inclined not to. Yes, this is a political/class warfare/general comment on the state of human civility tangent, but given world events, I think that this civil, reflective thread-tangent is healthy. If that changes, I'll definitely shut it down or recommend that another Mod shut it down.
I'm American and live in America, I'm criticizing the US.
With a plea and a threat that this discussion stays civil and reasonable, I vote for letting it continue.
It might just die off naturally, I'm not sure how much social-media outrage at the state of the world actually correlates to in-real-life outrage in the US or in other countries (narrows eyes at Australia). Obviously, Hong Kong is different.

One more thing, I'm ranting about Americans, not American politics, though of course that directly follows.
PS: Strip away the comedy from this best-of-all-time Monty Python scene, and you are presented with a model for a comprehensive operational government...

Was initially just on top of IMBeCil's. Figured he removed it himself. I personally didn't see the need to. As you said, he was just calling out his own race/city/country/space, which is fine (within reasonable limits) in my book. We're already wrapped in too much cotton wool these days anyway, naively thinking we can smother hate away by pretending to play Happy Family in public, ignorantly typing on laptops put together by minimum wage workers while wearing slippers made by child slave labourers.
