Re: August 2019 Screenshot Thread

Thinking of a certain sector, it's number might be eleven.

Re: August 2019 Screenshot Thread

I hears "sector" ... I distinctly heard eleven on the same breath!

THANK YOU hhh!

Yea, Canada - "almost" bought that.  Part of the development ... but NOOOOO!  Shot down by new Govt. policy!

But we were there for the development ... see the flag!  So sad!

Dude, I live in Charleston. It's where the new Boeing plant is building planes that crash.

Incredible. I keep expecting Godzilla to pop up and start swatting and flaming stuff.

Vaguely remember reading about that one.

Didn't a bunch of the ex-Avro engineers use that design as the template for Concorde?

Not sure about that but it was widely known that some went to the US.  And of course there are other links all over the internet today.

Strange similarities exist all over.  Avro 707 (1949) - predecessor to the Avro Vulcan (1956)  AVRO was a British Aircraft manufacturer dating back to WWI ( Avro 504 1913-34)

An interesting read. which kinda shows that I'm not the only Canuck that goes GRRRR over the Arrow.

@ ragamatrix - NICE!!!

We now return you to the topic at hand ... aircraft ... errrr  .... wallpapers ...

Re: August 2019 Screenshot Thread

Accepted into the dev repo, Lithium (custom tint2 and conky, the rest is default. Except I'm using mate-terminal, that's not default, lxterminal is now)...

Nice! Hey, I prefer a single left-side vertical tint2 panel, but I don't often see that in other users' screenshots. Or maybe I simply haven't noticed. I remember this thread: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic.php?id=3587

So lxterminal will be the default for Lithium? I like that or terminator or even qterminal.

Look at my resolution, it doesn't make sense to have a top or bottom panel on a wide-screen monitor.

So lxterminal will be the default for Lithium? I like that or terminator or even qterminal.

Unofficial Statement by hhh: It's the default on a testing ISO that we haven't released yet. We are integrating a bunch of new features and are considering including even newer ideas. A lot of good ideas have been suggested by forum members recently. @malm and @johnraff are, well, to quote Alien, "collating". Figuring out what to prioritize, etc...

I pushed for a change of terminal. BL is a fast distro, terminator opens slowly. Test it yourself via System>Edit Debian Alternatives>xxx-terminal-emulator against lxterminal or literally any other terminal, it opens noticeably slower. We're autostarting thunar daemon again, and thunar is opening faster than terminator on my system.

We'll see what people say when we release our first public testing ISO.

Re: August 2019 Screenshot Thread

Thanks, hhh. Of course I understand and agree about the side panel.

No concerns at all here about which terminal emulator is chosen for the default; I use different ones on different Openbox setups here and I certainly don't lose any sleep over split-second differences in how quickly they open.

I like the looks of your screenshot. Looking forward to that first public testing ISO.

My main (originally Debian stretch) partition. I've stripped out plasma and am running lithium minus clipit and at-spi2-core. It's... perfect?
