This is a fantastic linux, just been playing around with it and created my own usb with persistence following below instructions.
Some users here might find the usb persistence how to informative, but i think only valid for grml, but you could peak under the bonnet and have a look at what is going on.

^ Yes you are quite right, just a live system, not something you can install as desktop. Some nice configs in the live system though.

I still use a zsh config based on grml's .zshrc from 5 years ago. Heck, I think I learned more about zsh from grml's configs than zsh's own documentation.

GRML may make a great live system for rescuing a broken system or getting help if say your main system drive goes belly up.
