Grml Live Linux

This is a fantastic linux, just been playing around with it and created my own usb with persistence following below instructions.

Some users here might find the usb persistence how to informative, but i think only valid for grml, but you could peak under the bonnet and have a look at what is going on.

Instructions: http://wiki.grml.org/doku.php?id=persistency

Next up for me is learning how to use grml debootstrap...

Re: Grml Live Linux

FYI grml was dormant for almost two years between stable releases, now they got around to do a new one! It's a fine live system for rescueing purposes. I don't think it's a distro well-suited to be a desktop OS, I don't think they invest as much care as into their CLI experience and configuration. At least that's how it used to be.

^ Yes you are quite right, just a live system, not something you can install as desktop. Some nice configs in the live system though.

Re: Grml Live Linux

I still use a zsh config based on grml's .zshrc from 5 years ago. Heck, I think I learned more about zsh from grml's configs than zsh's own documentation.

Re: Grml Live Linux

GRML may make a great live system for rescuing a broken system or getting help if say your main system drive goes belly up.
