That's working nicely as a replacement for bl-exit which, although very pretty, has been annoying me with its slow startup time. One more hack to get rid of the lock entry, I have a keyboard shortcut for that already. Thanks dobs!

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Still very nice work ArchLabs team. smile

Just off a live run (06. iso) and a virtual install on a W10 machine. Cool touch with the BL inspired default wall.

If all things goes my way there will be a hd install tomorrow. smile

Re: ArchLabs Linux

@Dobbie03
I would object to osx semaphores for following reasons:
- aliasing (how about a square?)
- color coding is actually not that clear (at least to me), the onmouse icons are cool thought
- it makes one feel as running some deprecated (old) os

p.s. A quick try at squares

edit: Actually the bw version of squares might be interesting

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Hey Bronto.

Good call re: aliasing.  I forget about aliasing as I have 4k and they look perfect on my screens as circles.

What I intend to do is offer both round and the shaped decs (cross, bar for iconify etc)

Thanks for the feedback.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

I've added a new option for the window controls called Dark-Alt-Window2.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Gorgeous theming!

I had troubles with the last installer that I didn't have the time to investigate, I'll definitely give this a spin soon.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Thanks H3.  The installer has had a ton of improvement.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

I downloaded archlabs-2018-07-28.iso and did an installation yesterday. Wow! Excellent installer -- best experience installing an Arch system that I've ever had! I'm very impressed by what I'm seeing so far. Nice work!

Thanks man, a lot of work has gone into the installer.  Wait until you see the next iteration of the installer.  Miles ahead of what is on 2018.07.

I'm thinking that I probably won't get to see it, as it could be a very long time before I'll need to do another installation! I should have taken some notes and/or screenshots during the installation, though. By the way, was the installer offering me the option to go with some other DE/WM instead of Openbox, or to add something along with Openbox?

Lol, these two distros -- BunsenLabs and ArchLabs -- don't get the DistroWatch page hits that some other distros get, but they're both up there with the best I've ever seen.

We've done well since our newest releases came out, both in the top 100 for months now. BL is firmly at 60 and AL is at a stunning 38 on the front page. The big winner is Steve P. with MX Linux, it's #5!

Yes MX, and for a reason. BL and AL are perfect for us "niche folks" searching for openbox usable out of the box may it be rolling or fixed.
For the user who comes from ms/apple and need something easy to use and just get work done (plus good looks and the awesome mx-tools) there is nothing better.

Sorry for being a bit ot.

A family member of mine has MX linux running on there laptop since last year, still working perfectly. Its definitely a good choice for someone coming over from Win7 or Xp.

Ive got archlabs and Bl dual booting, but they are not modified in any way, two good back up distros and i use them to learn about linux. Its also good to have other distros you can boot into for dedicated tasks and the fact that both distros have excellent package management.

The option is to install alongside.  That is the best thing about Arch, treat it right you probably shouldn't need install again.

We seem to jump when we do a release, as you can expect.  Since we haven't done one for a couple of months our hits are down but our forum sign up is always on the increase.  I don't hold much by the Distrowatch hit count.

That's what I think too.  If I wasn't using AL, I would be using BL for sure.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

I can't wait to see the new installer. That was the only weak link so far, IMO.

-edit- The theming for the last release was flipping gorgeous, and I am jealous.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

^ Not sure when we will release but sometime in the next few months.

Cheers, yeah I love that theme.  I have a new one that I'd like to update it with though.
