Downloaded this, will be giving it a try very soon.

I downloaded the r2d2 version and to me in my opinion was a bit overwhelming with the amount of stuff on it but hey some people like that and some dont, i like minimal distros that i can customise. Anyhow congrats and i wish you well with minimo!

Very nice desktop! Those 1-4 icons look interesing, did not see something like that before.

So are there Archmerge and ArchLabs Mínimo from now on? No more ArchLabs. Is there a blog maybe to read about why the split came?

One man's opinion:

Look at it this way:

ArchLabs is still ArchLabs ... has a name: Minimo representing a new 'style' -- kinda like BL Hydrogen / Helium

ArchMerge is a ripoff of Archlabs by som..... well let's just leave it there! {spit spit ... bad taste in mouth}

Congrat Matt! Indeed those top icons/panel looks wonderful. Distro looks pretty minimal, keep it simple seems pretty clear. I just hope to used and enjoyed more and more...

@Dobbie; Any specific web place(s) you would prefer for notes/bug reports? I think I'll do a test run and try (not) to break things. So far minor stuff:

- gsimplecal doesn't seem to close on 2nd click on polybar
- skippy applet in polybar will count plank as window (Actually that's probably window_count)
- updates are still shown (in polybar) after pacli has already updated the system
- lxapperance doesn't seem to want to apply fonts for real (Apperance does)

@martix, ArchLabs is forever. archmerge (I refuse to capitalise it) is a former members spin on AL.

@steve, I never agreed with the direction R2 took, I was at the mercy because of my lack of knowledge compared to other members, my intention for ArchLabs is what it is now. Inspired by BL, based on Arch.

@bronto, if you could post bugs at the forum please S11 posted a link a little further up.

I need to emphasise, archmerge is NOT a continuation of ArchLabs "vision" or "original concept". It is a certain members idea of what ArchLabs should have been. I began ArchLabs with my mate Toola as a Arch based clone of Bunsen because we loved BL so much we wanted that on Arch.

It has become it's own beast and the inspiration is still Bunsen. It was never intended to be a fat, overweight, resource hogging [redacted].

Anyway. We are on the right track for our intended plans for ArchLabs and we are super stoked our Bunsen Brothers are on board with us.

I gotta say, there has been a great response to Minimo. Moved up the ladder to 40th place at Distrowatch. Almost 3000 downloads in two days. Really happy with this.
