Setup FTP server

I have been doing some google searching over the last few days, looking for ways to set up FTP to my linux machine, so if I am ever out and need to fix a bug or error on my site I can do so on the move rather than have to wait hours to get home to do.
Anyway more to the point, all I keep reading is you can not set up FTP on Debian 8?
Is this correct? Or am I ready misleading information?
Thank you

Re: Setup FTP server

You want ssh https://wiki.debian.org/SSH , now if you want ftp, from memory pure-ftpd was easy (apt install) and it will take system usernames passwords by default.

Re: Setup FTP server

I'd advocate for sftp as well. Stay away from ftp! It's not secure! smile
