I also vote for the grey-dark look. It is more neutral if one wants to build on it. It is more minimalistic. And it's good for getting into a neutral frame of mind for looking at photos-graphics.
But, an "easily choosable" color look is fine because choice is always good.

I personally like the blue damo. Would love to see a bl-emissions wallpaper for helium as well when you get the time, sir. I used your previous two quite frequently.

The flame logo is "BunsenLabs Infinite", by NixiePro on DeviantArt (aka @ututo here); the svg is on his dropbox: bl_infinite.svg

This would need some work (technically and to get colors right), but along this lines perhaps (if ferlauf is really wanted), wip

It is quite interesting that such grain is even possible in vectorial pics.

Are you proposing these as possible wallpapers?

No, not yet, this should be good enough for somebody to get the color scheme right.
edit: How about this five? < This would be my proposal, with version D4TL or D5TL as default. p.s. They won't render fine in browsers, you have to inkscape or nitrogen them.
Inkscape, oh inkscape, I'll be so happy not seeing you for a while.
color schemes: 2x sky-ish, 3x crunch-like, logo is flat enough to assume flat icons as well I think. p.s. I don't understand Debians sick-green palette, so I avoided it.

I'll weigh in... I prefer Ututo's original flame. It's our brand, I think we should stick with it for a default. The rest is window dressing (No, but you know what I mean.)
No, he can't sleep on the floor. What do you think I'm yelling for?!!!

^ Agreed. I don't mind having color as long as the option to have a dark/gray color is available and should be according to damo's post of desktop scrots.

@hhh, No, what do you mean? (Actually I wrote 5 points there, wallpaper is just one of them)

Colouring the flame? That's an idea! We are doing the periodic table, right? As all fans of Periodic videos know all elements are associated with a colour of the flame when being burnt...

@Martin, just following on the damo's color/ferlauf theory So Helium could be burning orange/red?

Not on my machine it won't! At least not after the first 60 seconds. And that's a health exaggeration on the time too!

What would be the correct cc license wording to attribute ututo? (if it is cc license)
There is no license on the original dA page, but @ututo would have to say how that applies to the svg logo.

Looks nice and surely will go well with a flat icon and window theme.

I really like the idea of pre-configured setups to choose from BLOB. I like the Helium Beem theme and how it puts everything into harmony (background, gtk, obtheme, etc). But to be honest, I like the All-gray/CB style the most.

I've no problem with anyone using, distributing or modifying that svg logo. License? Is it necessary?

It is for BL, which tries to follow Debian policy. I believe we want to use "Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike (CC-BY-SA) v3.0 v4.0", but I suggest you PM @johnraff, who is dealing with attributions and licenses for packaging.
