Sector11, thank you for quick comparison of available file managers, especially for mentioning Tux Commander! I thought little bugger died years ago. Will give it a shot tomorrow and see what one penguin general can do for a simple human.

@Nili - nice. Can you post the .Xresources for that in the .Xresources thread.

I've been playing with herbstluftwm for a few nights, it's frying my brain

it'll do that 8o
still an excellent wm though.

Work/experiment in progress; polybar + fluxbox set up with windows maximized and tabbed:

Thanks Glenn! Yeah HLWM is one of the few awesome Window Manager.
I'm not very expert either, Just playing with my minimum strengths smile Yes is a great WM.

Should have been more specific; can you add the line for inconsolata as the terminal font; I can never get it to look that good in a terminal.

Re: July 2017 Screenshots

I have to admit that if I was to install a proper "desktop" KDE would be on the top of the list.

I tried GNOME years ago and didn't like it so for me Gnome, or derivatives, are lower down on the list.  XFCE has been here, it's OK but ... mmmmmm.  You are the third person I "know" now that's using KDE, Crinos512 (Kbuntu), unklar (KDE with Mageia)

Curious what's your underlying system? Debian Stretch?  Certainly not Jessie » Version: 4:4.14.2-1

J/K KDE 5 is rather nice. I prefer openbox, but KDE is nice. It used to be my default for years and before that Gnome 2.3 (which I still miss, and which Mate and Cinnamon do not replicate even though they try to).

Anyway, mind sharing the wall?

Seems like a number of users over on the Siduction forums are KDE aficionados.  Too much bloat for my tastes.

Fresh install of BL Deuterium. So far so good. I need to clean up the conky a bit so things are more in line with one another.

After one week, 60 more packages installed and couple of UI tweaks, I'm very happy with BL at work. Next milestone will be 1 month uptime and final assessment about reliability of the software soup I've installed after first boot up. Still searching for an editor and file manager. Atom seems to be the best candidate so far since it has all the features I need, even if it's heavy on RAM. But... I have zero candidates for file manager. I've got used to Total Commander, its features and plugins, and it seems like I'm too picky about this one.

Did I mention I'm very happy with BL?

Back to tint2 sorry,

Got rids all decorations, useless and all nonsense settings (for me) from dzen2.

Also removed conky-std/conky-cli, I don't need conky aswell anymore...

HLWM+TINT2 will stay a lot longer, just very simple settings that i like so much!

P.S... S11,
