BunsenLabs Deuterium Release (jessie point-release)

BunsenLabs Linux is pleased to announce the release of Deuterium, LIVE hybrid ISO images that allow for the installation to a computer of a Debian jessie Operating System that uses Openbox, tint2 and conky. These images feature support for installation on machines that use UEFI. There are 3 images available... 64 bit, 32 bit and a 32 bit CD-sized image using the non-PAE 586 Linux kernel, upgradable to the 686 kernel for PAE machines.

https://www.bunsenlabs.org/installation.html

You do not need to install Deuterium if you have a working BunsenLabs installation!

As always, please post any issues or questions directly relating to Deuterium or Hydrogen in our Basic Help and Support forum.

For details of changes, see the Deuterium Release Notes.

Thank you for supporting BunsenLabs!

Re: BunsenLabs Deuterium Release (jessie point-release)

To update an already installed system, run the following commands in a terminal window:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

Note that volti (the systray sound mixer icon) has been replaced with volumeicon-alsa (plus a script to start PulseAudio correctly) and there have also been several changes to ~/.config/openbox/autostart — these can be merged manually for existing users if required but will apply automatically for any newly-created users.

Existing users can apply the changes by upgrading their bunsen-welcome to the newest version (8.14.3-1) and running bl-welcome again.

Nothing will be done, however, if your system doesn't have volti installed or already has volumeicon-alsa (because you might already have arranged things how you want). In such cases you should check ~/.config/openbox/autostart manually, comparing it with /usr/share/bunsen/skel/.config/openbox/autostart.
