Re: Show us your conky

Another thing for Conky v1.10 - it comes with "convert.lua" that does a fairly decent conversion of conky v1.9 to v1.10.  I copied it to /media/5/Conky/convert-lua/convert.lua

And convert.lua should have been installed with conky, but not on the $PATH.

On Void, it's located in /usr/share/conky; I think it's the same for Debian, or maybe in /usr/share/doc/conky.

Of course, you can always get it from the git page.

Re: Show us your conky

A question for the lua coders. Can a lua function send a notification to the system tray?

If so, you have a link to an example?

Re: Show us your conky

Been thunderstorming  all day so I tweaked the hell out if a "few" conkys merging them and a couple of LUA scripts not to mention a couple of Tteo's scripts one weather and one moon script included as well:

The Frankenconky!  It Lives! It was that last bolf of lightning I know it!
But, 'it's peaceful and wants to be your friend.

  • Calendar tweaked one from mobilediesel (I think) from back in my Ubuntu days

  • Air Clock by Alison Pitt (2009)

  • Some of the conky layout comes from mzsade - tweaked.

  • The weather is a tweak from Temetka

  • Weather script 1_accuweather by TeoBigusGeekus

  • Moon script 4_moom  by TeoBigusGeekus

  • Currency code tweaked from code by Inodoro-Pereyra

  • Bottom like emaii by kaivalagi (conkyEmail) and volume by {cough cough} - me.

  • Draw-background by mrpeachy - wherever you are KUDOS, my friend

For some old timers: Pure CCCC! as londonali1010 said.

Re: Show us your conky

Well ... mrpeachy's v9000 weather script ... now three years old still works in conky v1.90
2017-05-16_132627_Scrot11.th.png

so I ripped out conky 9 for conky 10:

I can confirm the procedure with the latest Conky version in arch-linux.

An empty window is displayed. The error message lets me guess that calling the Lua script with the new Conky syntax
must be different.

Unfortunately, I can also from the linked examples of @mrneilypops draw any conclusions.

@mrpeachy would have found the solution already...   wink

Simple one - clock, uptime, battery. The battery value changes color as it drains, and should blink when critically low (blinking doesn't always seem to work).

Re: Show us your conky

Here, a couple of posts above, I showed my first conky(s). well, today was another rainy day so between life things in the house I woke up the old code and started tweaking...

The conky starts like this:

# conkymain
# 09/01/2008

looked like this when I fired it up ...
2017-05-21_140651_Scrot11.th.png

So I get started, I added the missing font, HandelGotD, didn't like it, changed to another I have here, ripped out parts I don't care for, added parts I wanted and tweaked, re-tweaked and re-re-tweaked and this is what it ended up like - so far:
2017-05-21_224614_Scrot11.th.png

Needs a weather tweak  smile

Re: Show us your conky

Updated my conky, learning a bit more now, getting addictive... wink

Simple one, nothing really fancy, played around with inserting images and made a background for it.
