boot error after grub updated in antix testing (solved)

vga=788 is deprecated, use "set gfxpayload 800x600x16,800x600 " before the command

this is my grub file:

# If you change this file, run 'update-grub' afterwards to update
# /boot/grub/grub.cfg.
# For full documentation of the options in this file, see:
#   info -f grub -n 'Simple configuration'

GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_TIMEOUT=5
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian`
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="vga=788 quiet"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

You might get better help over in the antiX forums for this issue.

Your computer boots and you can log in, correct? So you're just getting that error because "vga=788" is deprecated?

Pretty sure you need to change:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="vga=788 quiet"

to:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet"

then

sudo update-grub

to clear the error message; you should be able to google that error message and verify it.

You must unlearn what you have learned.
