The "hybrid" bit actually refers to the ISO type:

hybrid.iso

A hybrid ISO image can be burned to either a DVD or a USB stick directly, without any further modification of the image.

Note that unetbootin does *not* work with hybrid ISO images.

See https://bugs.debian.org/775689

Re: 64 bit "Official" Live ISO preview

So does that mean that this is the final stable 64 bit release version of Bunsenlabs?

Great work!

Assuming we don't find any major glitches, yes. We need to test it first, but I don't see why that has to be done privately.

Re: 64 bit "Official" Live ISO preview

@BL: For those who are not comfortable with the command line, try mintstick. A Debian package that will both format and write the image very easily. Have used this in the past with LMDE and found it trouble free! Supports hybrid ISO images.

Downloaded, preparing for a fresh install!

Re: 64 bit "Official" Live ISO preview

It works perfectly in a (QEMU) virtual machine.

The bl-welcome script is so awesome it gives me goosebumps.

Re: 64 bit "Official" Live ISO preview

Sweet! One step closer to a full release!  So this ISO image is still RC4 correct? This now just let's use download the ISO and bypass the :

After downloading the ISO file from one of the sources below, you may find help with burning the file to disk or writing to a USB key in the Debian FAQ section:

How to write an ISO image under Linux/Unix, Windows or Mac OS X?
How to write a CD/DVD/BD image to a USB flash drive?

section of the install process correct?  Did this hybrid ISO ability not exist before or was it on the schedule of things to do?

No, this is the actual release AFAIK.

EDIT: correction: a preview of the Official release

I'm sure hhh will correct me if I'm jumping the gun here...

Horizon_Brave wrote:

Yes, the BL ISO images have always had this capability.

Re: 64 bit "Official" Live ISO preview

I would call it RC*. We're already discovering a few minor clean-up issues that will require one more ISO build.

Please explain clearly where this message was seen and under what circumstances.

Please always post *full* error or informational messages, along with the preceeding terminal input and any commands that were run to produce these messages.

If this is, as you say:

from your bl-welcome of this 64 bit "Official" Live ISO preview.

Please also provide full details of how you prepared the USB stick or DVD that you used to install BunsenLabs and how exactly you have installed it -- is it in a VM, on a USB stick, on an internal hard drive, etc

Please also post the full output of the following command from the installed system:

grep -v '^#\|^$' /etc/apt/sources.list{,.d/*};apt-cache policy

Thank you!

EDIT: typo in command, used a square close bracket by mistake -- replaced with a curly one.

RC1 was quite stable, this is quite stable, both 32 & 64 bit isos.
