i did some work on this; very little on gtk, but i added a few openbox theme variants.
i'm trying to get an openbox theme that clearly shows focused/unfocused even when the window is undecorated, whilst still fitting in with everything else. not so easy, maybe not perfect, the choice is yours.

gtk still needs some work though; gtk3 more than gtk2.

take a look at some gtkrcs - they are easy to read (but hard to make nevertheless).
although there's some engines that have so few (or none) config options, you just define ~8 colors, say engine "xxxx" {} and it looks reasonable. actually i think mist is one of these engines. i always liked it, but it does look a bit outdated in 2016... #linuxandfashion

did some more work on TempuraFlat.
mostly trying to get gtk3 to behave. i actually finally bit the bullet and installed gtk3 on my system.

openbox themes come in 5 variations now!

Open the ReadMe. The GTK3 needs work. I've given up on GTK3 and am using Engrampa for my archiver and Atril for my PDF reader. The app-finder in the screenshot is 'xfce4-appfinder --collapsed --disable-server'.

there were some problems with symlinks when extracting the icons, it said it wouldn't overwrite existing files.
happened both with engrampa and tar (cli).

...also, dropbox wouldn't let me download the file on palemoon even after temporarily disabling noscript. had to launch chromium just for that. could be because of useragent string, could be because noscript is still blocking things it considers extremely dangerous even when "Allow scripts globally".
just one more tick on my long list why not to use commercial "free" online services.

Re. downloading, I use uBlock Origin. I had to allow dropboxstatic.com.

i worked some more on TempuraFlat, i think it's getting close to completion (except i couldn't find how to style a toggle button in gtk2).
earlier i improved gtk3, now gtk2.
works on my arch, and BL in vm.
