I have Sennheiser 280s which cost a bill...

I'm thinking about wireless, maybe this, also for a bill?

She's wearing the headphones over her muffler, bad choice.

Always bothered by the lyrics because I hear "I'm a green eyed bitch, I'm the soul of Ed McMann."

Grace Jones on Demolition Man wrote:

I'm a walking nightmare, an arsenal of Doom
I kill conversation as I walk into the room
I'm a three line whip, I'm the sort of thing they ban
I'm a walking disaster, I'm a demolition maaaaaan.

Thanks! Now listening.
This first track's Grace Jones I guess... ah yes your later reference to Demolition Man gives it away. Police song right?

^ Yes. Her with Sly and Robbie are amazing, who else could successfully cover Bill Withers? Mwow.

dub_seesion1 playlist

* Demolition Man by Grace Jones (Sting cover from Nightclubbing with Sly & Robbie on drums and bass, 1981)
* Great Train Robbery Dub by Black Uhuru (also Sly & Robbie, Robbie is especially good on this, from Brutal Dub, 1986)
* Buccaneer's Cove by Mad Professor (1985. A Caribbean Taste Of Technology is the album.)
* One More Dub by The Clash, from Sandanista! (1980)
* Don't Move by Cottonbelly, from Cottonbelly versus Trumpet Man (2001? Trumpet Man is Stuart Matthewman's brother, I think. And Stuart Matthewman is the genius behind Sade.)

Cream - SWLABR (from "Disraeli Gears");

Really like Clapton's guitar tone on this track.

Yes! I remember on TV back around that time when an interviewer asked him how he got that "woman tone" (I guess this track is an example?) and Clapton said he used the neck pickup but turned the treble right up. Probably not the whole story though.

In fact it seems unclear when Clapton said "turn the tone right down" whether he meant turn the bass down or the treble down. There's lots about it on the interwebs.

Thanks John. I liked Eric's guitar work with Cream and Derek and the Dominoes a lot more than much of his later, solo stuff.

Hugh Cornwell and Richard Thompson - Tobacco Road;

^ @PackRat Astral Weeks is a wonderful album! One of my absolute all-time favourites.

Me too. In fact my favourite Clapton guitar is on the pre-Cream "Beano" album with John Mayall. Beyond "woman tone", he's really screaming raw emotion. For example:

Mayall's in good voice too.

Eric's Beano guitar was stolen in summer 1966 apparently - I don't if that affected his sound afterwards.
