Everyone should know that AI-based security vulnerabilities have been discovered in the kernel in recent weeks.

Debian fixes the kernels very reliably. I've had cases where a newly discovered vulnerability was being discussed in internet forums and Debian had already fixed the kernel for me 2 hours beforehand.
I'm really not worried about that.  big_smile  So, remember that.

Because I don't entirely understand the process... I am running Boron, which I believe is being called oldstable now.

I have noticed over the past few weeks, I would be notified that there were updates, and I have been applying them as they arrive. But if I am reading this right, I am at 6.1.164-1, but your chart suggests I should be at 6.1.17x-x.

Am I misunderstanding, or is something wrong with my system?

Your system is probably missing the debian security source.

Strange, a few hours after I made that post another update came through and it definitely included 174-1, but today, uname still shows 164-1. Something is definitely wrong...

^ To be fair, I have had second partition systems overwrite my debian grub and it wouldn't grub-install to the primary again unless I installed debian to the second partition.

Also, @dbickin, don't forget you need to run 'sudo update-grub' from the system that is running grub for kernel upgrades on any partition.

Yeah, that turned out to be the problem. This was the first kernel update since I switched this system as the default. Guess I should move grub here.

But all is well on my system now.
