A Carolina anole (aka green anole), it can change color from green to brown.

Not cheery facts...

Harder and harder to find here in Florida due to the invasive Bahamian anole (aka brown anole), which changes color from douchebag to asshole.

I have a lot of Carolina anoles in central Alabama. Sometimes in the hot summer, I will see a dozen or so of them on my patio.

Weird story: One afternoon a couple of years ago, I was sitting in a chair, reading a book next to our outdoor fire pit. I saw an anole on top of the fire pit wall. It stayed a while, and for some reason, I started singing to it. It looked at me and, after a minute or so, jumped over onto my foot. I kept singing, and it kept watching me. I felt like it was listening to my song.
