Replacing Firefox ESR with Firefox

I recently installed Beryllium with no major problems, but I have a question about Firefox.

I usually follow this tutorial from hhh for replacing firefox-esr with a "normal" version of Firefox, putting it in home: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 898#p71898

However, I no longer see firefox (or anything else for that matter) in /opt.

So, where do I need to go to copy the shortcut which used to be in /opt/firefox, as mentioned in the tutorial?

Re: Replacing Firefox ESR with Firefox

If you install Firefox to your home, you do not have firefox in /opt...

I prefer to install to ~/.local/share/applications/firefox/ on boxes I am sole user of.
I create symlink of ../firefox/firefox to my ~/bin

$ ln -s ~/.local/share/applications/firefox/firefox ~/bin

Re: Replacing Firefox ESR with Firefox

If you want to use deb packages and do not mind using the MX Linux repos, they package Firefox for it.

What is funny is I generally replace regular Firefox with the ESR, I have developed a strong dislike of their fad of the month UX/UI changes, and ESR does keep up with security.

Great, thanks both, I got a bit confused following the old tutorial. Everything is now set up as I want it, I'm really impressed with Beryllium  smile
