Is that an oh or a zero?

It's the upper case letter O as for wget "-O" is the short form of --output-document=
I suppose the long form could have been used in the guide instead, though frankly just trying the two likely options is probably faster than typing the long form.

Doesn't matter how your chosen font displays it, just copy off the screen and paste into a terminal. It works.

That's a tad awkward when installing on a fresh Debian CLI system, unless you ssh in from a system that has a useful browser, at the point you need it to install Beryllium the bare Bullseye install doesn't...

How about having the entire installation process set up in a bash script?  That's what I do.  This can be copied onto a USB and run on a bare metal machine without having to type in any commands, even on a Debian CLI only system.  Less opportunity for human error.

How 'bout a test cycle ISO? Even less opportunity for human error.

But it is a cool idea. Care to share it?

I had an idea of copying Debian and imposing a Freeze at around the time Stable comes out, just before our iso building would start. After the freeze only bugs would be considered - no enhancement suggestions.

Yes, try this for "Bookworm" and see how it works out.

One more full ISO is uploaded, just better to have the ISO include the first bug fix release of Plasma 5.25.
No other real changes since the first full ISO other then that is includes Plasma 5.25.1.
Expect this ISO to be released as next stable tomorrow or Thursday.

That's how it's done. wink

Re: Status Please - May 25 2022

Hi!
Sorry to necrobump but after I read all the conversation I really want to say my opinion on this. Why? Because I keeped an eye on BL for months and the no-factors for me were not just the fact it was stuck on Debian 10. After seeing that I was obviously dubious, but I thought I might give it a ride no matter the Debian version.
The problem for me was seeing Debian 10 PLUS the fact that this forum is crucial for the community and the registration were closed.
These two things together made me think the project was dead. However I was confused by the fact that I wasn't able to find any announcement of this, so I thought I'd just continued to keep an eye on it and see what'd happen.

Happily, what happened was that a few days ago I randomly found out that registrations were open again, and later that Beryllium was on the road.
These are great news!
Now, I love BL and I do really care for it's life, it's a great distro with a great community behind it. I am not even remotely an expert, honestly I don't know how the creation and development of a distro, or an ISO or whatever, work, but reading through the conversation I understanding that even without these skills I could help the development, simply by using the beta versions and give feedback, ant that's something I could and I'd really like to do, for the sake of BL's future versions.

So, that said, I'd have two requests:

1. Would it be possible to make it more obvious that there is the possibility of testing betas, and where to find them?
The most obvious thing I'd expect would be to be able to download them from the site or from github, but I don't seem to have found that information there and if I hadn't read this post I would still have no idea how to be helpful to the project.

2. If I could do more than just use the beta and report bugs and feedbacks, is it possible to have a "list" of things that someone could do to help the development, and thus make it faster?

Thank you.

Hi yak, indeed user feedback is extremely helpful to developers and much appreciated!

The place to look for development discussions and beta releases is the Development & Suggestions forum.
There you will find a link to the beta Beryllium iso, and a previous thread about setting up a testing system without using an iso file.

I just answered a question about our current development path here:
https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 83#p124683
Maybe that will clear things up a bit.
