It's GNOME with some makeup removed!
Eh? Admit it, you think it's lovely. Also, it's my own Cinnamon desktop theme to match the BL default theme...

-edit- A minimal Openbox session on buster using xfce4-panel and compton (for panel transparency)...
Do I feel good about using 280 ram instead of 700 in Cinnamon, with 90% of the functionality retained? Yes. Yes, I do. -edit- But open a browser and stream some video, the RAM is only a 100 higher in Cinnamon.

Really bizarre you posted that, I've been on a Kraftwerk kick the last week because of the Remixes release (2020)...

You're both correct.
By pressing down a special key
It plays a little melody
Und wenn ich diese Taste drück
spielt es ein kleines Musikstück
I always prefered the German versions.
I mean, "We are the robots" just doesn't compare to "Wir sind die Roboter".
Same with
Radioaktivität

Getting slightly out of control, I switched from stock Arch with bpswm to Archlabs with bspwm...
Running tint2 not polybar, pywal for terminal color pallette, cmatrix
Love those colors. Good stuff.

Pekwm Don't think there has been an update since 06-07? Anyway, pretty damn neat really. Anybody else using Pekwm?

I posted this on Mastodon, but I'll also post it here.

Honestly, the clean and clear design language of the early 2000s era computing (see: M$ Windoze 2000) is like, one of my favorites of all time.
It's just so utilitarian if done correctly.
I'm using XFCE. If anyone would like theming info, I'd be glad to share those.
The background is something I made myself. LMK if anyone wants that also
I value utilitarianism a lot, and BL reflects that value really, really well.

Some recent activity. Nice.
I like to have more stacking / manual tiling WMs a lá openbox around.
The theming is exceedingly difficult, iirc? All done via tiny PNG graphics?

Oh it is nuts! I started theming it out changing the colors and so forth only to see nothing changing. Wait what?
So, took a look at the .png's and every single one has to be adjusted! lol. Not that bad really. Opened them all in gimp and had a copy/paste fun fest for an hour or so.
Pekwm is really interesting. It may wind up being my new default just for kicks. Runs about the same as Openbox on Ram. (Fluxbox runs 20MB or so, less.) Edit* Installed, Pekwm runs lighter than both.
I set it up with Plank and Stalonetray. Kept my "monster panel" toggle when needed.
Pekwm is now an option in my smaller build, with Openbox now the default.

Inspired by Yeti-Lithium, I wanted a dark grey-ish theme. My first theme in months, BL-Lithium-dark-grey. Here it is on Debian Cinnamon...
I have to tweak the Openbox and xfce4-notification themes before I upload it, sorry for the tease.

Image files are not required to theme pekwm. You can replace the image file name in the theme with a texture and color; and I believe pekwm accepts color gradients
An ugly scrot just for show; note the color change in the theme file:
Their documentation is admitedly cryptic; there use to be a really good tutorial for configuring pekwm online. It may still be available. Includes all the theme options and some examples. If you hunt around box-look.org and deviantArt you can fine some pekwm themes that do not use image files.
bspwm -
@hhh - nice looking theme in the works.
