Re: I need a computer cheap

Fine, restoring and ignoring instead of binning.

I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

Re: I need a computer cheap

BTW, I just purchased a twelve year old Dell from Walmart for $180 USD delivered, it arrives the last week of this month...

This thing retailed for $1200-$1400 in 2008. It would have been running what back then, Vista? 7?

Re: I need a computer cheap

Joy, it came a week earlier than predicted! Joy, it looks brand new, it has a sleek brushed metal top! Joy, it has the sublime backlit keyboard and higher screen res than the cheaper version, I wasn't sure what I was ordering! And it's the most vivid matte screen I've seen, stunning!

Boo hiss, Windows, you bloated bastard.. I can't wait to wipe it, 4 hours after the initial setup finally finishes, maybe 8, there's no feedback. What a piece of crap. I'm looking at a static setup screen that has been there for a full hour with no feedback as to whether I even clicked the right button or not. "How would you like to set up?" Up your butt, dingus OS.

Re: I need a computer cheap

I've given Microsoft my email, a phone number and a pin, and installed a phone app. That finally got Windows to install. BTW, the desktop is slightly hideous. Big icons, even larger desktop shortcuts. Thankfully only the trash can and four others that seem useful. Customer service, Chrome, Team Viewer 14 (?) and Edge.
