This is the best forum discussion of zipper repair I have ever read.
Even I don't know how to feel about that.
Stay strong and, by all means, carry on.

I clearly should've done that myself.
Frankly, I never considered this to be a thing that could be solved through online purchase!!!
@ohnonot
Not cheap but they actually work.
ZLIDEON
Holy cannoli, that's genius!
And they ship to Finland, too!
Thanks to y'all; this is precious info I will cherish the rest of my life!

What I get out of it:
As individuals we don't have all the answers to all our questions but collectively we do much better at finding a solution. And that's one big zipper zapper!

This is (one reason) why Amerika hates the EU.

America LOVES Apple, not sure what your point is.

Yes, Granny Smith, Jonagold, Cameo, McIntosh (the chewable one), Golden Delicious to name a few but iApple no way! Same as Windows I still use windows, closed in the winter and open in the summer.
Although after saying that I 'must' admit in am in a minority.
Still boggles my mind why people would "want" to buy planned obsolescence "as a choice".
OH! Wait ... that's ALL computers and most other electronics.

Hell, we have amazing, awful artwork in the restaurant that I until recently worked for. It's about .7m wide and 2m tall and it's based on this photo. I'll post an actual pic as soon as I can...

Huh, I know there are pictures of this artwork, I don't know why Goggle won't show me any tonight.

He looks like an asshole. In my opinion.

What happened? Laid off because of the pandemic, or did you find work in another place?
Offline
Laid off due to Covid-19. They're still doing takeout and delivery using the half-dozen salaried staff, but I expect the whole operation to be shut down by the middle of next week, if not sooner.
The owner has been a real leader, speaking with the Mayor, writing a plea with the support of other restaurant owners to the Governor to delay the myriad of restaurant taxes that are due at the end of this month, shutting down his restaurants to prevent the virus spreading rapidly. He's been great. He's become my friend. He drove me to early vote in the SC democratic primary a couple of weeks ago. I'm part Turkish and part Syrian and he spent his childhood in Israel, he's Jewish. We're friends, a rich Jew and a poor Arab. I have his phone number and he answers my texts. He texted me the link to file for unemployment (I have). A cool dude. I wash his dishes, and he actually appreciates it. My being hired was a moral boost for the restaurant and got us back on track to make a profit. Before me, five dishwashers came and went and moral was low, low, low. You do not want to be a line cook during a rush and then go wash all of the plates you just served.

I see two rich people, but then I'm not talking gold.
You have your heart in the right place hhh. Wish nothing but the best for you and your boss friend.
EDIT: Stupid typo

Everybody in line should see and understand, what it means to others if you do your own share in time and properly. Then will also your coworkers acknowledge your good work.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Turkish people were not Arabs. But Syrians are, right?
Is it racist to ask thing like this?

Re: zipper slider
fixed it!
They didn't sell the sliders only but I just bought a short zipper (cheap) and used the slider from that. All good, but I'll remember ZLIDEON!
@hhh: my - condolences? - for losing a job.
I hope you can get it back after.
I wouldn't want to live under American labour law in these times.
Although the board of the place I'm working at said they would possibly want to count the hours we are losing, and later compensate them with overtime. Doesn't seem legit to me.

Not racist. Curiosity should not be labeled racist.
In general I think you're right about Turkey/Arabia and the nearby Arab countries, but I really have no clue, I was raised atheist and with no knowledge of Turkish culture except for food and the occasional swear word or phrase. I think there are so many Arabic Muslims and Christians in the region, and Jews in Israel, that that's the reason the whole situation there is a clusterfuck to begin with. Add politics and the Military and, oh, Gaza...
In restaurant terms, we'd call it "a shit show". In military terms, SNAFU and FUBAR.

@misko_2083:
Be glad you live in a country with sane(r) consumer habits than where I live.
It's all malls here, and they don't have much choice when you look a little closer (as in this example). I guess I could have taken a trip to the capital’s center where there is 1 shop that possibly sells the sliders only.
And it's the sort of thing you don't order online because shipping would be double the price of the product. If they'd even sell only one.
@hhh & johnraff:
I don't think it's racist either.
But one should understand that this part of Eurasia has seen so much change in recent decades that hhh's parents' situation just doesn't translate to the current situation. I don't think it's been as f*cked up back then as it is now, or if it was, it was so in a very different way, with animosities running along different lines etc.

And I just counted 7 big malls in my small town. We are getting there.
But there are still much more small shops.
I miss those types of proper shopping districts with actual individual/terraced shops. I think Americans call them strip malls. Technically they still exist where I live, but are more dedicated to specialist/niche businesses or the occasional cafe or fine food joint. Your typical clothing boutique or tailor, nope. They're all in shopping malls now....

^ Tailor’s are definitely a niche business around here.
Not much call (and I shamefully admit that goes for me too - I could never afford tailored clothes, and what's the point in repairing those cheap child labour rags I'm usually wearing), they're neither in the malls nor in actual shopping districts, but cling on at the fringes as best they can.
It gets really sad when not only shops (*) but also cultural venues, pubs and cafes are inside the mall.
And are dying out everywhere else.
(*) And even those shops are almost always part of a chain.
