Re: 3D games won't start

"GLX is not supported", "OpenGL GLX extension not supported".

Are they new versions of those games? Perhaps the OpenGL library versions on your system are now too old.

I installed them all with apt, and when i run apt update, it says all packages are up to date.

How can i find out if they are too old?
And if they are, what do i do to get the new version?

Re: 3D games won't start

I suspect it is a graphics driver problem. Have you updated/upgraded?

Re: 3D games won't start

Im not really sure what you mean by update/upgrade
apt update and apt upgrade?

I dont remember when i did it last time, i guess a week ago, and i dont remember what packages were updated.
when i run it now it says nothing needs updating.

Should I just reinstall the OS?
I would like to avoid reinstalling if i can fix it somehow

Re: 3D games won't start

I tested to run on my ASUSTeK MB: M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3, built in graphics. Started ok.

$ sauerbraten -t

Library: SDL 1.2.15
init: net
init: game

init: video: misc
init: gl
Renderer: AMD RS880 (DRM 2.50.0 / 4.19.0-0.bpo.6-amd64, LLVM 6.0.0) (X.Org)
Driver: 3.0 Mesa 18.2.8
Rendering using the OpenGL GLSL shader path.
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile
init: console

init: world
init: sound
init: cfg
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile

No good info on http://sauerbraten.org/README.html?

Re: 3D games won't start

Probably just a gl debian package missing.
apt-cache search glx | grep gl
apt-cache policy

"GLX is not supported" error message SDL prints is what I'd search for. Example result: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/854 … 96#8545496
Good luck finding the missing package(s).
