i found a bargain today a dell optiplex 780 and only 5 euros loaded Lithium and it works beautifully only one problem i have no monitor so i hooked to to the TV through HDMI the only problem is that the edges are not visible how can i change the visible screen size in the settings,i feel a bit stupid i cant seem to find how to change it i,m sure its something simple

Look for "overscan" or "screen fit" or similar in your TV settings.
If you can't adjust it via the TV, then try xrandr. Get your HDMI label with
xrandr | grep connected
Then try
xrandr --output <HDMI label> --auto
Then try
xrandr --output <HDMI label> --mode (X)x(Y)
Get X and Y possibilities from xrandr, and choose a resolution that your monitor supports.

Solved I updated the TV system and that fixed the resolution
