If you are on a perpetual journey through the Linux eco-sphere (like me), I think you'll find this article to be a worthwhile read.
I recommend reading the entire article. The punch line is at the end.

Peppermint
There's one I haven't looked at in a while...

Peppermint was popular during the netbook days, wasn't it?

^ In any case it's been around a while and seems to have enjoyed constant development & a solid user base.
Both very good signs.
I tried it yesterday and did not much care for its mint-ish alroundness and user-friendliness.
But it seems solid.
Like a cross between Mint and AntiX maybe.

I think BL is also 'Frankensteined' - at least GUI wise. Isn't it? We have elements from xfce and lxde.

I'd guess that Window Managers like OB, bspwm, i3wm, iceWM, hlwm are more likely to pick up functions from regular Desktop Environments (DEs) like xfce, lxqt/de, etc. to fill function gaps on the Desktop. DEs (like KDE, gnome, xfce, LXqT, etc.) tend to be more fully functioned and are less likely to borrow from other DEs/wms. PeppermintOS doesn't really fit nicely in that paradigm as it seems to be a Mark Grieves rolled personal DE (FrankenDE???)
Having said all that, I personally think PeppermintOS would be more interesting if it were Debian based. *buntu distros are of no particular interest to me, personally; but that's just my 'opinionated' bias. ![]()

Yeah, and many more.
Its not as big a thing as the article makes it out to be.
