updating nvidia drivers{solved}

I want to use Optix in blender with my 2080ti video card but my 430.50 nvidia driver is not new enough. I downloaded 440.26 beta driver but I need to know if my plan to run

sudo apt purge nvidia*

and reboot in the shell to install new driver will work?

Re: updating nvidia drivers{solved}

If you didn't install nvidia drivers the "debian" way and you want to upgrade the driver just do it, no need to purge the old driver.
By the way "Optix" is a lot faster in blender and has a built in denoiser so you need less sampling, 64 samples look great! gone are the days of 1000 samples.
