The strange thing is that I have no problem accessing Accuweather with any graphic browser using expressvpn, only via command line.

What do you mean test it?

EDIT: Right, no you can't test it, it requires a subscription.

EDIT2: bansurveilancecapitalism had this problem as well...

Check via wireshark -- it will tell you what's wrong.

When I connect without a vpn, I monitor my ethernet, filter by accuweathers ip, and I get packages.
When I connect with a vpn, I filter by the ip wget tries to reach and I get nothing, no packages at all.
What's the proper way to use wireshark in my case?

I would monitor the vpn interface and see what happens there.

It's usually tun/tap. When you start vpn, the interface will be listed in the main screen, just select it.

I don't think it can filter by process. Just use http/https filter and then just catch the conversation and filter by it.

Nah, I gave up and uninstalled wireshark.
Screw Accuweather, for us vpn users anyway...

Nobody seems to complain about the WUnderground script, so I merged the weatherfont branch to master and deleted the former. Furthermore, I renamed the script and its folder.
Switch to the master branch and pull the new script.

I have been using the Accuweather script for a couple of years now, modified to fit in with my own Conky script. Thanks for the kind words and the feedback 00ninja.
I tried wireshark in case I found a solution, got frustrated and gave up.
The strange thing is that the majority of the script's users don't use a vpn, so Accuweather has almost nothing to gain from it; it has to be a side effect of some of their web filters.
I had been using the Accuweather script since it's inception 10 years ago; I'm forced to admit that I've switched to Weather.com, both because of the vpn issue, but also because I've got tired of my old conkyrc.
I also want to monitor closely the weather.com script: weather.com has given me much trouble in the past, that's why I had abandoned the old (like really old) version of their script. Let's hope that this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship...
As for Accuweather, I don't know what else I can do, my Google-fu has failed me miserably.
