October 2019 Screenshot Thread

Welcome to the monthly BL Screenshot thread! We hope it inspires you to customize your dekstop.

Please use thumbnails. Do not embed images larger than approx 250x250px (62,500px) into posts, use thumbnails linking to a hosted image instead. Thanks!

We recommend https://scrot.moe (free registration required) for image uploads. After uploading your image, click "Embed codes" and copy/paste the "Thumbnail image (linked) BBCode" at the bottom of the page, done.

To open the posted scrot.moe thumbnail fullscreen in Firefox, scroll down to the Download icon on the right (next to Like and Share), right-click it and choose "Open Link in New Tab" to open the screenshot in a new browser tab, then switch to that tab.

scrot.moe was created and is maintained by our very own mrneilypops, a long-time forum member.  Thank you very much, mrneilypops!

I haven't changed anything since my last post, except monitor. Someone gifted me an Dell E228WFP 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor for free.

This monitor is old as my DELL desktop from 2007.

I remember it was very expensive at that time, for that reason I didn't bought it. Today after 12 years someone gave me as a gift.  It's on a great shape, i quite like it.

Finally! Woo-hoo! Congratulations! But I'll miss your 1280x1024 setup...
BTW, I also have a 1680x1050 monitor and I also got it for free. It's a good one though, I'm not replacing it anytime soon.

I had that exact same monitor back in 2008 when my desktop setup was a dell xps. Was a work setup but still cost them something like 2500 dollars at the time for the computer including the monitor. I really liked it as it was lcd and was somewhat anti glare. Congrats, good to see the monitor has held up to the test of time.

Thank you ohnonot, I still have that 5:4, it is in very good condition.  I'll use it as a secondary very soon.

I'm glad you got it for free aswell smile "Even the King likes the gifts", we have a saying.

I think it's a good monitor, of course not quality like a HDMI / LED also lacks the 1080p format found in videos full screen where the two black borders up and down are shown.
For this case i use the MPV input.conf keybind to make it from 16:9 > 16:10

CTRL+d cycle_values video-aspect "4:3" "16:9" "16:10" "2.35:1" "-1" ; show_text "Aspect Ratio: ${?video-aspect==1.500:3:2}${?video-aspect==1.333:4:3}${?video-aspect==1.778:16:9}${?video-aspect==1.600:16:10}${?video-aspect==2.350:2.35:1 (CinemaScope)}"

So, I remove the black border up and down with "CTRL+d" keybind,  being an older CRT model is understandable to miss a few settings. Wide size of this monitor makes me feel good and i quite like it for this reason.

I think this monitor for an old desktop it's awesome. I've been for a while with 17inch 1280x1024)-5:4. Me too the Dell come up with XP, i was on Windows XP up to 2011 time when i converted to Linux. For 8 years it served me just fine.
For years from 2000 to 2010 computers desktop have been very very expensive, especially those of the 2000s.

Thank you, You've said the truth, This monitor have stand the test of time.

The industry term in American English is "letterbox".

Thanks for correction hhh, I'm clear that i have lack of wording or description the data. By googling...

Thread: "Letterbox" resolution
Well, you see less of the game that way. "Letterbox" is 2.35:1 which is the standard cinema aspect ratio. Fairly standard monitor today is the "FullHD" 1920x1080 with 16:9 aspect ratio. If you use letterboxed mode on that kind of monitor, the game is running at about 1920x816 resolution. Dec 22, 2011

Hope to have it clear next time and memory doesn't fail me smile

No worries, your command of the retarded, mish-mash language that is English is impressive. Most impressive...

In French or German it becomes a nightmare.

Die, der, das, there, their, they're.

Les comb. What rhymes with comb? What's spelled like comb??!?

Tooth. Oh, well, now I just feel foolish.

Sorry, I wasn't thinking clearly. I have a sore gomphos.
