Every time I clean my keyboard I "swear" never to eat drink at the computer desk again. Within two days my wife will drop of a cup of coffee or a mate and something to eat and I don't even blink an eye ...

^ I use a little glass cleaner in warm water and a hand towel to dry them off.

Sure, if the keycaps themselves are the main eyesore, any solvent should suffice. I'd use either glass cleaner or dishwashing soap, but really, either ammonia or anything in the saponified ester category should siffice.

Yeah? ok

I use a very dilute dish washing liquid/warm water solution. I'd stay clear of anything containing ammonia to clean any exterior plastic component of your computer. Screen, case or keys. Just my two cents of course.. Your mileage may (will) vary.

i use a 3 step cleaning program:

canned air, let it go between the keys (see xkcd prev. page) - weekly
a damp (=not dripping, even when you squeeze it) cloth optionally with a little soap. thin enough to get between the keys - monthly and when i spilled something
the 3rd phase is a little unclear...

...i have been using a standard dishwashing brush to get between the keys, with a little soapy water, always keeping the keyboard upside down. brush vigorously.
i have once or twice removed all the plastic covering, including the keys, and washed/brushed them. once i even completely disassembled & cleaned a keyboard (not a mechanical one though), hoping it would fixed the Alt key - it didn't, the keyboard worked exactly as before.

conclusion:
cleaning keyboards is good to make them look clean.
it usually does not affect functionality either way, in other words & my experience:
All keyboards are sturdy enough to withstand a little soapy water and a hard plastic brush.

haha, it looks nice, but it's just so ..tiny, I don't think I'd find it very comfortable! I'm still in love with my Unicomp buckling board. I may replace a few keys though with a color or two...I've succumbed...

Actually, the 60% is more comfortable than the laptop keyboard, belieb it or not.
Hence why I travel with it

I've seen this particular board, the Cooler Master Quickfire Rapid-i. It's got a nice bunch of on-board settings running through an ARM processor, but there have been some pretty negative reviews regarding the boards with MX brown switches in them.. Should I risk getting it and then having it break within a short period of time?

I'm looking for a board with an ISO-DE TENKEYLESS Layout, preferably with LED back lighting and cherry MX browns. Any suggestions that won't break my budget of €150?

And please, nothing that looks overly "Gamer keyboard" looking.

Here's some eye cancer that I'd rather not have.

Could always try and go for a WASD code, they're also rather nice.

Also I got my Magicforce 68 a little over a week ago, Cherry greens are some rather nice, and clicky, switches!
