seems all shconnections are being refused when working on the terminal
Hi there guys, I was working on a remote dedicated server and my connection started contantly getting reset while trying to work in SSH so I thought I would update the OS, restart and see if the issue was resolved.

schwim@schwim-vm-bl:~$ It seems absolutely everything I try fails. I'm not sure how to work through this issue. I can't update repos, I can't ssh me@myserver, I really need help getting any solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

there's no sign of a connection being dropped.

3 days in and I still get 404's when trying to update. Anyone else have this issue and is there anything I can do to get around it?

i picked one of the links and am also getting a 404.
it first redirects me to http://cdn-fastly.deb.debian.org/debian … 4/Packages which is 404.
i cut of bits of that URL until i get back to http://cdn-fastly.deb.debian.org/debian/dists/ - that is still available. there's a subfolder called jessie, but not jessie-backports.
in this case, my guess is that jessie-backports has been discontinued.
you have to research that, all your 404s are jessie-related, yes?
why did you not dist-upgrade to stretch?
i did that on my server and it was no problem.
and i maintain, you do have a frankendebian there for various reasons. i shudder.

^There is a 'Report' link, just right (down) of every post, which will alert relevant forum people instead of all the forum members ... or did you accidentally press 'Quote' instead of 'Report'?

Oh damn me! 
I didn't realize of this 'report' link. To reply was an impulsive reaction from me. I've had such spams in my forum and it's always an "Oh no! Not again!" moment.
I also see now that @rickcottle has resurrected many of the old topic/threads with his super SEO skills.
I've reported it. Now, the admin have to delete my original post, your reply and this reply of mine as well. Poor him!
