Hello all i loved crunchbang on my old p4d 3,2 Ghz system then it took a crap since the CMOS battery died and i have been lazy and havent fixed it anyway. i installed BL today RC1 on my eee pc and have no audio but the widgets theire and the function keys all work just no audio aswell. i installed java immediently for a little fun play time on a skyblock or something on minecraft and found that left clicking twice would not open the launcher but open archiver and even with the java command.
Java -jar Minecraft.jar it would not launch but show this instead
kah@KAH:~$ java -jar minecraft.jar
Error: Unable to access jarfile minecraft.jar
and i have 2 issues which if anyone is willing to help even just one is fine thank you!

Have you tried searching the forums for sound/audio problems which have been solved, or for a tutorial?
For example: Getting Sound working in BL
How did you install java? And the jar file is called "Minecraft.jar", not "minecraft.jar" btw

i installed java with sudo apt-get install default-jre
and it says im on the newest version available and that javas there but on both application menu and terminal it wont launch mc and ive been extremely frustrated as crunchbang wasnt near this difficult to get up and running. im not saying my experience is bad but theres very little guided help for trouble shooting on mc and java in general as i was going to make some models in a java modeling client and that wont launch either.

and as far as audio is concerned i can repair that some other time.

To test this, I've just installed the bunsen java meta package, which is an option screen in the bl-welcome script (it installs openjdk-7-jre); then downloaded Minecraft.jar and ran it with
java -jar Minecraft.jar
I suggest you install java using the BunsenLabs method, and use the correct command for running the jar file.
BL uses exactly the same procedure as Crunchbang did.

The clue is in my post ]:D
bl-welcome
BTW there is some important information in that script to help you run BL smoothly, so "closing it instantly" is not recommended
