The clicky clicky feels good! The only thing I miss is the actual volume knob...

I hate those types no offense lol... I love scripting, coding, and the very purist form of IT... those kiddy "haxor" who light up their computer like a freaking christmas tree just really grate on my nerves... I love the simplicity of this board, yet the elegance of it... And it sounds ah- mazing!

i think glitter was refering to something like this, not this...

i got a really nice old lenovo keyboard from some company's surplus for practically no money. it looks like the one horizonbrave posted, but some keys seem to be needing some extra convincing recently. not sure yet if i can clean it, or if i'll evtl have to shell out those 100+ credits for a "real" keyboard...

Frankly I don't even care for the colored WASD.

I've been using one of these for a while (not my photo, obviously, but that's the model keyboard):

MX Blue keys; I really like the feels, and it isn't as loud as I expected.  The Linux kernel HID module throws a cryptic series of "unbalanced collection" errors, but from what I've been able to find about the error message, I can safely ignore it.

I think glitter just failed at humour online, that's all. Not the first time that's happened. Won't be the last. You've been warned..... and frankly, you're all too uptight. There I was, giving everyone the perfect opportunity to diss those obnoxious "master race" PC gamers, and no one played along. Mediocre, Morsov. Mediocre!!

I don't do mechanicals anymore since I'm laptop only these days. Had a Rosewill up until a couple of years back, the old first(?) gen one without media controls or USB hubs. All black, only change was a "Mod 4" replacing the Windows swastika.

If I were to go out and buy one today, I'd get them in some French motif if possible, for obvious reasons.

Re: BL Keyboard discussion thread

The one I got is from Unicomp, link is here:
http://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/UB40P4A

It's the Ultra Classic Black Buckling Spring USB
At 85 bucks, it's one of their cheaper models, but still it took me a while to pull the trigger on it! But I"m so glad I did...I really love it. My only complaint is that I really....really miss my volume knob on my old board.

you're right of course.
thing is i simply know nothing about these "master race PC gamers", except the occasional hardware while looking for something else, or videos like the one s11... oh my god it was horrible. please make unsee it! i have to counteract it with this!

...

um, i got a bit carried away.

on topic:
Horizon_Brave, what you linked there, would you say it's the best price/quality ratio possible?
(i fear that some of these mechanical keyboard manufacturers think: why not sell it for twice the price, people will think it's even better!)

Sure... Click on PM in my data box ... HOWEVER: You are asking about doing something you have not allowed others to do, so if I respond, you probably will not see it.

You need to activate PM's: Your Profile: Privacy » Private Messages

Re: BL Keyboard discussion thread

After having my glorious click machine for about a week...I'm loving it, but just concerned about keeping it clean...(something I didn't really care about with my last one.) I eat and drink (tea/coffee) at my desk quite often, while I"m careful, I don't want this keyboard to get crummy and greasy. So I ask, how do you guys clean your keyboards? Especially ones of the mechanical variety?

Re: BL Keyboard discussion thread

typically what I do is I take off all the keycaps and air compress the keyboard itself. It works out well for me.

Re: BL Keyboard discussion thread

devil That's so true!   lol  lol

Every time I clean my keyboard I "swear" never to eat drink at the computer desk again.  Within two days my wife will drop of a cup of coffee or a mate and something to eat and I don't even blink an eye ...

Cool, any method to clean the individual key caps themselves? A bit of mild soapy water to scrub them with? then dry and replace?

^ I use a little glass cleaner in warm water and a hand towel to dry them off.
