^I think the BL ranking is appropriate, except for one thing. Lower than Raspian?

Nice to see AL so high up on the list.

^ ^^ ^^^ Was there a ranking implied by that list?
My takeaway was how much company we have in the lightweight distro zone. We'll have to work hard to continue justifying our existence!

I want to add that this review is now readable for free @ https://www.heise.de/select/ct/2018/21/1539312557450435 (hope it's not based on random IP whitelisting to attract attention).
BunsenLabs is described as "schicker Allrounder", I think the translation from Denglisch to English "nifty allrounder" fits best

I get: BunsenLabs helium: stylish ALLROUNDER - which I quite like.
We's got "style baby"!

Yes, schick may, depending on context, dialect and intonation mean stylish, pretty, good-looking (like a fashion item), but also neat, nifty, nice (or British: noice), 'that's cool', 'alright, so what now' …

OK, I know it is a German review, but let's take a look at the English slang word: schick
schick
noun. Stylishly outstanding; smart or chic
Those boots are so schick!
#stylish#awesome#rad#cool#sheek
Either way we have to agree: It's not bad at all.
Been YEARS since I have used schick.

^,^^ Way cool.
BunsenLabs liefert ein solides Debian-Stable-System mit Openbox-Oberfläche und braucht nur wenig Systemressourcen – hier auf einem Eeepc 1000H.

Just by chance, ran into something I didn't know, it must be put in by the Debian Installer:
(Google translate)
If neither booting of the CD / DVD nor the USB stick works, the installation can also be started from an installed Windows (if still present on the device). In the Explorer there, the CD / DVD carries the title "Run Debian GNU / Linux". Double-clicking on it will launch the Debian Installer Loader, which will copy some files to disk and set up a rudimentary bootloader. After a restart, this offers the choice between XP and the continuation of the installation. The latter starts the normal installation.

^Yes maybe it's a "facility" offered by Windows so they can keep some control over the situation.

Not a review, but an implementation. "RaspEX Build 181010 especially made for the new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ with the very fast BunsenLabs Helium Desktop"...

^That's very interesting.
It's an Ubuntu based system, using BunsenLabs as a DE. I think it will be good if we keep this kind of extension in mind going forward, and make our packages as generic as possible.
Most encouraging.

Agreed, even if the Hydrogen wallpaper and theming in general makes me cringe. I like the wall but so easy to edit Hydrogen out of it.
-edit- BTW, thanks to the user on r/BunsenLabs who posted the info.

Didn't notice the "hydrogen", and yes the GTK theme looks like W98. Could use some work on visuals.

strange to use the default openbox theme and still call it "bunsenlabs" o_O.
haven't seen any gtk in the screenshots (oh, in the last one. something isn't configured properly i guess).
and who still uses slim? hasn't it been dead for a long time? isn't it incompatible with systemd? see the warning here.

He's gotten a lot better at navigating our interface and getting to the point, I think this is a very slick five-minute overview.
