Hi, just installed the latest BL iso today on a newly acquired Lenovo X250, this is a refurbished unit bought it 2 days back ... came with windows 10 ... BL is currently the only operating system.
An Internet search revealed issues with intel power save setting causing the issue ... but nothing related to Debian or BL. How may I go about to identify the source of the issue

when does it click anyhow? completely random? unlikely.
pulseaudio issue? have you tried switching off pulseaudio and generating sound with alsa only?
intel soundcard powermanaging might come into it.
i believe there's something one can add to the kernel command line to disable it.

i'm on my first cup of coffee and in no condition to sift through that.
i see "snd_hda_codec_realtek" and "snd_hda_intel", not sure what that means.
please have a look yourself at some other logs, too, as i proposed earlier, and make an effort to narrow it down to pulseaudio.
also 'lspci -k | grep -A5 Audio'.

Hi, just installed the latest BL iso today on a newly acquired Lenovo X250, this is a refurbished unit bought it 2 days back ... came with windows 10 ... BL is currently the only operating system.
An Internet search revealed issues with intel power save setting causing the issue ... but nothing related to Debian or BL. How may I go about to identify the source of the issue
I own a X240 and did indeed have a similar issue…it was the HD audio codec.
First, check your BIOS for audio-related power saving features. If enabled, turn them off, then check if the issue persists. If yes:
The easiest way to disable power saving in Linux is to install powertop. Then run it as root in a terminal
sudo powertop
and use TAB to cycle to the "Tunables" register. Select all items relating to audio using the up/down keys and toggle them using the SPACE key to the 'Bad' status (=powersaving disabled). On my X240, the relevant entries are
