After a new install I am getting lots of screen tearing and flickering.
Do I need to adjust some settings in the /usr/bin/bl-compositor script?
Or, load a specific driver? I am not really that familiar with compositor tweaking, it is something I have never really had to do. Usually I just install the Compton and add an entry to the autostart menu.

Any ideas?
EDIT #1 - Let me add that I have the exact same issues on a Thinkpad x120e.
EDIT #2 - I should have posted this in "GUI & Applications."
EDIT #3 - This a temporary fix for my issue. Instead of using launching `bl-compositor' I use the following line in the autostart file:
/usr/bin/compton --vsync opengl &
Now I have no screen tearing.

You can edit compton.conf to include the vsync parameter: Menu -> Preferences -> Compositor -> Edit Compositing Settings
In the "Backend" section, uncomment the line
#vsync = "opengl";
There is a lot of info and help in the comments in that config file.

Also see /etc/bunsen/compton-startup as an alternative place to set system-wide composition tweaks.
