help... kubuntu 15.10 canon pixma ip7220

as stated, i bought a canon pixma ip7220.  it is usb.   i cannot print photo quality
from any application.  i have tried the included cups\gutenprint 5.2.11 driver and
the 3.8 download driver equivalent from canon-asia.

configuration only offers 600x600 dpi resolution as an option (black or color) and
prints that without issue.  max color resolution of the printer is 9600x2400 dpi
photo lab quality.  havent seen it yet.   please help.
