Hi everyone... So I've been getting a bit annoyed about how Thunar downloads, and displays images when browsing the file system.
So let's say I see a file or image I want to download. Sometimes it offers me a choice to choose what directory I want it in, allows me to change the desired name of the file etc.. The download menu looks like this:
Other times though, I get a download prompt that is like this:
I have no option to where it goes, or what it's named as..
Also when I'm browsing a file to upload somewhere...Sometimes I can get a preview of the image as a thumbnail to the right, but other times (could it be folder specific?) I don't see a thumbnail. Are all of these based on thunar config?
Or is it how Iceweasel interacts with the File manager? Anyway to change this?

The lower image you posted looks like the Iceweasel download dialog. You can change its behavior in Preferences by selecting "Always ask me where to save files" on the general settings tab.

@OP Thunar doesn't have a "Download" menu. Downloads are handled by the application doing the downloading.
Although you can do "Save As" and name and store a file where you like....
And uploads will be handled by the site you are uploading to, or the application which you are using, so you can't configure Thunar to handle that AFAIK

D'oh! I really thought it was something far more complicated than that...Thanks and sorry for the oversized images!
