Hey there,

cant get sound here:

(also some other sites)

but here it works:

The Slimjet Sound Row in Loudness Settings is only shown while a youtube video is playing.

The first site uses Flash. Have you got a flash plugin installed? (in Firefox, check about:plugins)
If not:

sudo apt-get install bunsen-pepperflash

The install you suggested could be made, but it didnt change anything.
All the videos (except on facebook pages) run (play?), but only the youtube page gets a loudness controll row in the loudness preferences and is audible.

While playing the panda video (chilloutzone) try a right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar, and choose "Volume Control". pavucontrol should open. In the "Playback" tab do you see a "freshwrapper: playback" item? Is the volume slider at 100%?

How does that compare with YouTube?

What is your browser, Firefox?

another troubleshooting step is to
a) completely (!) kill the browser in question
b) open it in a terminal
c) recreate the problematic behavior
d) see if you see something useful

i dont know how to upload a picture attached to a post. i could show you, that there is no volume option in the videoplayer when watching chilloutzone.

If I had to guess, i'd say panda has audio type unsupported by flash player, but html5 seems to work. To test disable flash and reload.
edit: Actually no, html5 returns AVC/AAC that should play with flash as well, assuming they return the same clip.

But this is delta not panda!

Those were error messages during browsing while a terminal was running the software, they happened after the panda video until termination of browser.

the previous post reports until panda.

There is another error with a videoplayer i recall.
Its in youtube,that every third or fourth video play attempt will give an error saying try again later (inside the youtube player) but those videos would never play.

My hypothesis states there might be codecs missing. (??!?)

I should check the differences between those videos with an info command like brontosaurusrex used, isnt it?

Until now, i didnt intend to try a different browser.

Pattern is, everything except for some youtube does not run sound, or doesnt run at all in a special case like facebook.

So solution is to change browser.
I experienced Slimjet to be smoother than Chromium.
What alternatives can you think of?
ABrowser is unfortunately abandoned.

You are of course free to use whatever software you want, but life would be simpler if you installed Chromium or Firefox IMO. Both of these get security support directly from Debian, and with Firefox, for example, I never have trouble playing media.
