KDE Connect is integrated with KDE; its file context menu entries are managed using so-called KDE service menu entries. Non-KDE applications, including GTK file managers, are not able to interact with the kdeconnect service (which must be running too!). The only alternative client I know of is https://github.com/andyholmes/gnome-she … -gsconnect (GSConnect), which is a GNOME shell extension that you can use with GNOME Shell.

a) Are you using a KDE-enabled file manager? The typical choice here is Dolphin.
b) Is the kdeconnect service running and is your phone paired with your computer?

UPDATE: There seems to be somthing you might be able to use with Openbox/BL default desktop: https://github.com/Bajoja/indicator-kdeconnect.
