Debian 9.5

9.5 just released a few days ago.

Is it wise to update BL to a new point release, and if so what is the preferred method?

I assumed 'dist-upgrade' would achieve this but it reports nothing to upgrade.

Re: Debian 9.5

If all your Debian packages are up to date, then you already have 9.5.
Try

cat /etc/debian_version

to see.
'dist-upgrade' is not needed.
The "point release" is mostly cosmetic, indicating a whole bunch of packages got upgraded at once, with a few bugfixes along with the usual security packages.

Re: Debian 9.5

Excellent - many thanks John, that does indeed show version 9.5.

Neofetch pulls in debian version as 9.4 which threw me.
