Does rox-filer automatically mount usb drive, like pcmanfm? is it ok with openbox?

From a quick Google search: No.

You need to configure automount using a tool external to rox-filter, e.g. udevil.

^ building on that:
if you have the patience to get used to it (i never had), rox-filer has an interesting method of tying actions to filetypes. surely it would work for external drives also.
