hi everyone,
I just reformatted my laptop and installed the newest version of bunsenlabs (Helium), and once again I needed to re-establish all my applications, etc. And I noticed that when I use google chrome, some of the websites say that I don't have adobe flash installed. So what should I do?
Thanks in advance!

The short answer is that BunsenLabs no longer supports Flash as it is a huge security risk. Chrome and chromium have also dropped support for it, I believe.
Unofficially, you can install Flash directly from Adobe and use it with Firefox following the old, maybe outdated instructions here...

I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

An alternative is to install the MX packages, which install both the older NPAPI and newer PPAPI versions, and get it working for Chromium, too: http://mxrepo.com/mx/repo/pool/non-free … ashplugin/ We got permission from Adobe to redistribute it.
Deb-multimedia also redistributes their own packages, though without permission. You can do that in France.

^ Again, thank you. What a great help you've been on our forums. Much appreciated by everyone, I'm sure.

Hate to contradict a fellow mod, but in fact we are still providing bunsen-pepperflash in the repos (PPAPI only, supports Firefox and Chromium, automatic updates). It's not installed by default, and it is indeed a security risk, but the welcome script will offer (with a warning) to install it, and you can get it any time with:
sudo apt-get install bunsen-pepperflash
The last time I tried, it worked OK. You can still set your browser not to use Flash, though, or only to use it if you actually click the start arrow, or Firefox allows selective permissions so only trusted websites can run Flash...

^ No worries on the contradiction, I figured someone would have better info.

Probably the easiest way is to install gdebi, download the MX 17 deb of the plugin for your architecture, and then either use the command line to install the deb:
gdebi <file-name>.deb
or open the deb with gdebi-gtk. You can also use apt on the command line to install local debs, but it's a little more complicated using that method...though there is a way to add that as a right-click action for Thunar. You'll also have to keep abreast of any updates to Flash manually, which have been coming out about once a month lately.

You are the best, John! Everytime after I reformat my laptop, I can always count on you to help me re-route through all the quirks, as far back as the crunchbang days! <3
