[Mod Post] Feedback on trimming stickies in this forum

The amount of stickies in this Scripts & Tutorials forum has grown unruly, it's time to mow the lawn. List 5 that you'd like to see stay stickied. After feedback, we'll unsticky some threads. If the unstickied threads are important enough to be hi-lighted, we'll figure out a solution at that point.

Thanks for the help!

Re: [Mod Post] Feedback on trimming stickies in this forum

My Weather Conky - Finnish and International - Ilmatieteen Laitoksen Sää can be un-stickied.

Getting that ISO to a USB stick should be part of bunsenlabs.org/installation, no need to keep it stickied imo.

and isn't HowTo: Searching the Crunchbang forums passé by now?

In no particular order:

1. Sticky: Getting that ISO to a USB stick
2. Sticky: Newer Graphics Hardware in BunsenLabs
3. Sticky: My tint2 config
4. Sticky: Crunchbang forum: "Tips,Tricks & Scripts" Collection
5. Sticky: HowTo: Create debs from Testing/Unstable/Experimental/Ubuntu/PPA

Create a thread for for all of the conky stuff with sticky's inside, just for conky, on the main page. (BunsenLabs has the most comprehensive conky thread I've ever seen, and many people on other forums reference it in all sorts of ways).

These should be included:
Metdown & Spectre: check your vulnerability                  Could/should be added.
Backport a Debian sid package to BunsenLabs (quick method).  Useful
How To - Kernel Compile With Custom Options                  Very useful, but I'm biased:)

Sticky: Show us your conky, could be moved to screenshots section.
Sticky: Franciser Bunsenlabs etape 1, could be a sticky in Basic Help and Support, or?.

Why not unsticky all of them and then make a meta-post of most valuable threads with links and basic descriptions, and sticky that instead?

Lots of great stuff in the "Scripts" section, it's a little hard to judge where to draw the line. The ones that strikes me to be most useful for a large number of BL users are:

  • New Graphics Hardware in BL

  • Getting That ISO on a USB Stick

(And maybe one or more of the Conky threads - I don't play much with Conky, so I can't pick one.)

This is a pretty good idea.

Seconded.

@ohnonot, thanks for your post! I'll give this thread for now and then we'll create a meta-sticky tomorrow if no one has a better idea.

Thirded - this sounds like the neatest solution.

No this is going to be easy! Everything here, or almost everything, needs to be updated for stretch. If anyone is interested in keeping a subject alive, please open a new topic.

I'm going to unsticky almost everything, please post if you want something back.

Looks good. Quite a collection of handy stuff has built up if you scroll down the pages.

I'm hoping that user interest will bring relevant topics back to the top, or else OP's will update their posts (*cough*, me), and then maybe we'll sticky them.
