[SOLVED] Conky: what can happen if "alignment none"?

What is this value for?

What are the possible consequences for screen positioning? I'm finding some odd behaviour, so I'm guessing that Openbox is doing the window-positioning, but also the size shrinks.

Can `gap_x` and `gap_y` have any effects when `alignment none`?

(I don't want to use it, but I need to know if I have to take it into account in a script)

Never mind - placement is handled by the WM, so I'll work around it.
