Looks like it's just a network issue on my end. The network at my work here has all kinds of proxy caching and SSL interception and different types of nonsense going on.

I assume that just updating through "apt update"/"apt upgrade"/"apt dist-upgrade" we are getting to the latest Alpha version. Am I right?
3D or not 3D, that is not anymore the question.

hello
i made 2 alpha6 hard installs on a lenovo thinkcenter intel core i7 and really love it ,it make me fill like i'm back home .
i found it very easy to use ( i'm not an experienced user)
so congratulations to devs !!
i mainly installed computer assisted music and games stuffs and experienced 2 issues :
1/ jaaa ( spectrumm analysis softwere) worked good on first install and did not on second install ( don't know why )
2/ it seems that my graphic card didn't work well in both case ( i didn t had such issues whith debian strech on the same system .

Not quite.
The changes will be provided as new bl-* packages and these will modify the system-wide configuration but if you already have a normal user then the changes will *not* be applied to $HOME.
To test the new configuration files, compare the contents of $HOME with /usr/share/bunsen/skel/, paying particular attention to /usr/share/bunsen/skel/.config/ (comparing with ~/.config/) — this contains the configuration for openbox, tint2, compton, conky and all the other desktop stuff.

Try removing the Intel DDX driver, it is no longer recommended in stretch:
sudo apt purge xserver-xorg-video-intel

What is the actual issue you are having?
Can you describe it please.
The compositor can cause problems:
pkill compton # or use the menu option
EDIT: did you reboot after removing the drivers?

How much longer we have to wait for final release ?

Look, I really don't mean to be rude but do you understand that it is quite literally impossible for me to give you a solid answer to that question?
There are still things to be done before the release: bug-testing tends to be a fractal process in that the closer you look the more you find.
Rest assured that we are all working as quickly as possible but please make allowances for the fact that all of the development Team works on this project in their spare time and $REAL_LIFE all too often gets in the way.

Nice analogy!
Since the alpha isos came out, a number of issues turned up that could preferably have been dealt with earlier in the cycle, but that can't be helped.

I find meld quite useful for this kind of job. Easier to start it from a terminal, though, than via the messy file-chooser GUI:
'meld /path/to/dir1 /path/to/dir2'

I suggest that you make a pun(?) of the final release of the Helium, by releasing the final iso on the April 1st. (If possible, of course.)

Hi!
I tried use Helium alpha 5 both i386 and 64 bit isos for advanced text installation.
I made three instalaltions: IBM T42 (786 MB RAM, i386), Dell D630 (amd) and Virtualbox VM (64bit).
I got a nice working environment but noticed some glitches to sort out.
The first thing I noticed was the errors just after booting. in Virtualbox i got this errors:
mount: mounting /dev/sda on /media failed: Invalid argument
umount: can't umount /media: Invalid argument
mount: mounting /dev/sda on /media failed: Invalid argument
mount: mounting /dev/sda1 on /media failed: Invalid argument
umount: can't umount /media: Invalid argument
mount: mounting /dev/sda1 on /media failed: Invalid argument
mount: mounting /dev/sda2 on /media failed: Invalid argument
umount: can't umount /media: Invalid argument
mount: mounting /dev/sda2 on /media failed: Invalid argument
/dev/sda1 is /, /dev/sda2 is swap.
I chosed "Installation komponents to read från CD":
choose mirror:...
On the two laptops the installer searched the CD and then went on. Did not try to connect to my local reposity server.
The VM tried to communicate with the server but failed. No problem to read in the repos with other installmedia.
The last thing is the grubline:
[...] initrd=/install/initrd.gz
That must be leftover from the live environmnet.
Bunsenlabs, is a great distro, keep up the good work!

Please read before requesting help: "Guide to getting help", "Introduction to the Bunsenlabs Lithium Desktop" and other help topics under "Help & Resources" on the BunsenLabs menu

^ Thanks for the feedback!

That error is usually seen after an incorrect image transfer with unetbootin being the most likely guilty party.
What method did you use?
the grubline:
[...] initrd=/install/initrd.gz
That must be leftover from the live environmnet.
That's from /etc/default/grub and I think it may also be present in a stock Debian system (I will check later), it has no effect in an installed system anyway (there is no /install/initrd.gz).

hello
the problem don't comes from graphical driver because both ( stretch and alpha6 ) have the same :mesa dri intel haswell desktop x86/MMX/SSE2 3.0 mesa 13.06
i also found that some packages were missing in alpha6 comparing to stretch :
Xsever_xorg_legacy
vdpau-driver-all
libva-wayland1
libmpx2
i tryed to install them all in alpha6 but it didn't change anything .still no problem in stretch and same issue in alpha6 .
as i said i'm not an advenced user and this problem seems to be out of my litle knowledge.

Hey, thanks guys! Still plenty of work to do since I've been very absent for quite a while now. However, we're trying to get this released, theme improvements can come as upgrades later.
